What £29.95 a month replaces
A commission-free takeaway ordering app doesn't have to cost more than the commission it replaces. The Independent Plan is £29.95 a month, with no percentage taken from your sales and no fixed-term contract to sign. Take 200 direct orders a month at an average £25 order value, for example, and a typical 25% marketplace commission would cost around £1,250 — the flat £29.95 fee replaces that entirely, and in any calendar month with 100 or more orders the fee is waived altogether. That single fee covers your own branded ordering app, built around your menu, logo and colours, plus unlimited direct orders and help getting the word out: flyer design and prints to get you started, free QR codes, plenty of digital materials and in-app offers. An order printer, so incoming orders land straight in your kitchen, is available for a one-off £294.99. Whether you take five orders a week direct or five hundred, the price stays the same, so every order you move away from a delivery platform's commission is one you keep more of. How card payments and Stripe fees work
Card payments through your app are processed by Stripe, not by us, so the £29.95 subscription doesn't include payment processing. Stripe's own published UK rates apply on top of the subscription — currently around 1.5% plus 20p per successful UK card transaction, though it's worth checking Stripe's current pricing directly, since rates can change.
To make that concrete: on a £25 order, a Stripe fee of roughly 58p (1.5% of £25, plus 20p) is deducted before the balance reaches your account, leaving around £24.42. Compare that with the commission it replaces — a typical 25% marketplace commission on the same £25 order would take £6.25, more than ten times the Stripe fee. Even after Stripe's processing fee, moving an order from a commission platform to your own app can leave several pounds more in your pocket.
We don't add a markup on top of Stripe's rates. You pay Stripe's fee, and nothing else per order, on top of the flat £29.95 monthly subscription.
Your customers pay a small 50p platform fee on each order, added at checkout rather than taken from your takings. It's typically well below the service fees they're used to paying on the big delivery apps.
The monthly fee is free from 100 orders
In any calendar month where your app takes 100 or more orders, the £29.95 subscription for that month is waived. Take fewer and the normal £29.95 applies for that month. It's counted month by month, so a quiet month doesn't affect a busy one.
The waiver covers the subscription only. Stripe's card processing fees and the 50p customer platform fee still apply to every order.
Setup fees and the first 3 months free
There's no setup fee. We build your branded app, load your menu and prepare your launch materials as part of the subscription. The only one-off cost is the optional kitchen printer.
New customers who request a demo through our 3 months free offer pay nothing for the subscription for the first 3 months. We don't take card details to start, and nothing is charged automatically afterwards. Stripe's card processing fees and the 50p customer platform fee still apply to orders during the free months.
Pricing for more than one takeaway
Running more than one site? Each location needs its own branded app, menu and connected printer, so a single £29.95 subscription doesn't automatically cover a second takeaway. Multi-site pricing isn't published on this page because it depends on details like how many sites you're launching and whether they share a menu or branding — talk to us and we'll quote a monthly price per site rather than a one-size-fits-all number.
Most takeaways adding a second or third site do so once the first is up and running and bringing in direct orders, rather than launching several sites at once. We can set several sites up together if that's what suits your business.
Cancelling, pausing or exporting your data
The Independent Plan is a rolling monthly subscription with no fixed-term contract, so you can cancel at any time by getting in touch with us. Cancelling stops future billing from the date it takes effect; it doesn't refund the subscription fee already paid for the current billing period.
There's no separate "pause" option today. If you stop taking orders for a season, the simplest route is to cancel and set the app back up when you're ready — we can talk you through that if it comes up. Whether you cancel or stay, you can request an export of your menu, order history and customer data at any time. If you do cancel, we delete your data within 90 days, or sooner if you ask us to.
What's actually in the printer and marketing package
The package includes a STAR thermal printer for a one-off £294.99, shipped to your takeaway and set up so incoming app orders print automatically in your kitchen — there's no separate subscription needed for that. Running more than one station? Additional printers can be provisioned so kitchen chits print exactly where you need them, rather than everything printing in one place.
On the marketing side, the package includes flyer design and prints to get you started, free QR codes that take customers straight to your app, and plenty of digital materials for your social media and website. You can also send offers straight through the app to customers who've already ordered from you. We put these together with you during setup, alongside your branded app and menu, so you have something to hand out from the day you launch. Am I tied into a contract?
There is no fixed-term contract. You pay a monthly subscription. We will explain the payment and cancellation arrangements before you get started.
Does zero commission mean there are no other costs?

Who processes card payments, and what does it cost?

Is VAT added to the £29.95 subscription?
We're not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is added to the price today. If that changes in future, VAT would apply at the standard rate.
