This notice explains how we use information collected through the Food Ordering Co marketing website. It does not cover orders placed with individual takeaways.
Last updated: 3 October 2026 · This policy is provided in English.
Who we are
Food Ordering Co is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@foodorderingco.com or call 033 022 38389.
Postal address: 33-34 Winckley Square, Preston PR1 3JJ
When you ask for a demo
We collect your name, takeaway name and email address, plus your phone number and message if you choose to provide them. We include the language of the page you used (for example, Italian for /it) in the enquiry so we can understand the context of your request. This is a website language, not an assumption about your nationality or a promise of support in that language. If you arrived via a restaurant’s referral link, its code is included so we can credit that restaurant.
Your enquiry is sent to our inbox through our email provider, and the same details are kept in our own sales records so we can follow it up. We use it to respond, arrange a demo and discuss the service you asked about. We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries; where you are personally considering a contract with us, we may also process information to take steps at your request before entering that contract.
Providing these details is voluntary, but we need the required fields to respond through this form. Please do not include payment card details, passwords or sensitive personal information. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing mailing list.
Keeping the website secure
Our hosting services may process technical information such as IP addresses, request times, requested pages and browser details in server and security logs. The form uses a hidden spam field and temporary records containing a hash of the submitted email address to limit repeated requests. These measures support our legitimate interests in protecting the website and our inbox from misuse.
Cookies and storage
You can use the site and send an enquiry without accepting optional analytics or advertising. We use the following storage:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
foc-language | Remembers the language you select. Set when you change the language. | Up to one year |
foc_ref | Remembers which restaurant referred you, from a ?ref= link, so we can credit them if you send a demo enquiry later. Set only when you arrive via such a link; not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. | Up to 90 days |
foc-analytics-consent (local storage) | Remembers your separate choices for site analytics, Google Ads measurement, Meta advertising and OpenAI advertising. | Choice valid for 180 days; you are then asked again |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics identifiers, set only after you accept analytics. | Configured for up to 180 days; Google may refresh expiry during use |
_gcl_* | Google advertising identifiers, used only after you accept Google Ads measurement. | Typically up to 90 days; Google may refresh expiry during use |
_fbp, _fbc | Meta Pixel identifiers used to measure and improve advertising, set only after you accept Meta advertising. | Up to 90 days; Meta may refresh expiry during use |
__obref | OpenAI Ads Pixel identifier that links a visit to the OpenAI ad you clicked, set only after you accept OpenAI advertising. | Set by OpenAI; may be refreshed during use |
oaiq_* (session storage) | OpenAI Ads Pixel session state, used only after you accept OpenAI advertising. | Until you close the tab |
Language, consent and referral preferences are necessary to remember your choices and, where applicable, which restaurant referred you. Site analytics, Google Ads measurement, Meta advertising and OpenAI advertising are optional, with separate choices. If your browser blocks storage, choices may only last for the current page session.
Optional Google Analytics
If you accept site analytics, we load Google Analytics to understand page visits and how the site is used. Google processes technical and usage information, such as browser and device details, visited pages, cookie identifiers and approximate location. Your device connects to Google, which receives connection information including your IP address. We do not deliberately send enquiry fields to Analytics, and our Google events exclude fragments and arbitrary query strings. We allow selected campaign parameters (UTM tags) for measurement; Google click identifiers are included only with Google Ads measurement consent. We send only the origin of a referring site, not its query string or page path.
The Google tag loads only if you accept site analytics or Google Ads measurement. Rejecting both sends no request to Google from this integration. Analytics cookies remain disabled when you reject site analytics. Google signals and personalised Google advertising remain disabled for every choice.
You can change your mind using in the footer or here. Withdrawing a previously accepted category updates the preference, removes accessible measurement and advertising cookies and reloads the page to stop running scripts. Only the categories you still accept may load again. It does not undo data already collected with your earlier consent.
For more about Google’s processing, read Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Optional Google Ads measurement
If you accept Google Ads measurement, we use the Google tag to associate visits and accepted demo enquiries with our Google ads, measure results and improve campaign bidding. Google may use advertising cookies and click identifiers for this purpose. We send a lead event only after our email service accepts a genuine enquiry, without including your name, email, phone or message in that event. A form identifier distinguishes the offer form from other enquiries.
This choice is separate from site analytics and does not enable personalised Google advertising. If you accept Ads measurement but reject site analytics, the Google tag may send measurements without analytics cookies. You can reject measurement and still use the form.
Optional Meta Pixel
Only if you accept Meta advertising, we load the Meta Pixel from Facebook. It records the pages you visit and uses cookie identifiers so that we can measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and show relevant ads to people who have visited the site. Meta receives your IP address, browser and device details and the pages viewed, and may combine this with information it holds about you if you have a Meta account. We do not deliberately send enquiry fields to Meta.
The Meta Pixel is not loaded before Meta advertising acceptance. Rejecting this category sends no request to Meta from this integration. Withdrawing consent via removes the Pixel cookies and reloads the page, but does not undo data already sent to Meta. For more, read Meta’s privacy policy.
Optional OpenAI Ads Pixel
Only if you accept OpenAI advertising, we load the OpenAI Ads Pixel from OpenAI. It lets us measure whether visits and demo enquiries follow our ads on OpenAI services such as ChatGPT. We send a page view event for the pages you visit and, after our email service accepts a genuine enquiry, a lead event without your name, email, phone or message. OpenAI receives your IP address, browser and device details and may set a cookie identifier to attribute the visit to an ad. We do not deliberately send enquiry fields to OpenAI.
The OpenAI Ads Pixel is not loaded before OpenAI advertising acceptance. Rejecting this category sends no request to OpenAI from this integration. Withdrawing consent via removes the pixel cookie and reloads the page, but does not undo data already sent to OpenAI. For more, read OpenAI’s privacy policy.
Who receives information
Information is available to people handling your enquiry and to service providers involved in hosting, security and email delivery. Google receives information only for the measurement categories you accept; Meta and OpenAI receive advertising information only if you accept their respective advertising categories. We may also disclose information where required by law or to establish or defend legal claims. We do not sell enquiry information.
Providers may process information outside the UK. Where a restricted international transfer applies, an appropriate legal safeguard is needed, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections. You can contact us for details about the providers and safeguards relevant to your information.
How long information is kept
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to respond and manage the business relationship, taking account of any legal obligations or need to resolve disputes. Security information is kept as needed to investigate misuse and protect the service. Temporary form rate-limit records become obsolete after their short rate-limit window and are cleaned up as the form is used.
Cookie and preference durations are shown above. Analytics information already sent to Google follows the retention settings of our Analytics property, and information sent to Meta or OpenAI follows their own retention policies. Contact us if you need the current retention period or would like us to review information we hold about you.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your personal information, have it erased, restrict its use or receive a portable copy. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where we rely on it. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions in data protection law.
Email hello@foodorderingco.com to make a request. We may need to confirm your identity. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator.
